Argyll and Bute’s dramatic and spectacular landscape provides the perfect backdrop for your photography holiday. Your holiday is based in the historic village of Taynuilt, on the outskirts of Oban. You will be accommodated in our modern holiday apartment or the local hotel. Extensive use is made of local gourmet cafes and restaurants for meals. All costs, including transport, entrance fees, ferry fares and meals are included. You only pay for any refreshments and snacks you may require. All dietary needs are catered for.

Digital, analogue and mobile photographers are all welcome! Together we will explore this rugged landscape with its many sea lochs, castles, mountains, islands, and wildlife. Whilst developing your photography skills and discovering new techniques and approaches.

All holidays are strictly limited to 1 or 2 people. To ensure you get the best holiday experience, I will spend time discussing your photography interests before you arrive. Together we will create a detailed itinerary specifically tailored to you.

Together we will explore areas such as composition, camera techniques, postproduction and fine art printing. As part of your holiday you will curate a printed portfolio of images you have taken.

I offer a range of iconic film cameras for hire, so you can experience film photography with a classic camera from the analogue era. Or, if you prefer, bring your own! My spacious darkroom and print studio is well equipped and has been specifically designed to comfortably accommodate a maximum of 3 people.

Having experienced this fully immersive photography holiday you will return home with many wonderful images, a printed portfolio of your holiday photographs and a new found sense of wellbeing and energy.

What are people saying?

Real words from real customers!
  • With a maximum ratio of 1 instructor to 3 clients, this week felt like a private photography workshop with all the benefits of fun, laughter, and photo tip trading with others in the group. Nothing like the big group experience. Although I was nervous about my limited skills, I was put right at ease and learned so much I can hardly believe the quality of my photos.
